PRINT PRINT PRIIIIINT!

(Blog - 04-07-2018)

OK, so before anyone points out that you actually need content on the pages before it being worthwhile printing them, please read to at least the end of the second paragraph.

The first bit to say is the pages will now print in a 'friendly manner'. What's this mean? Well, I have removed all information that isn't relevant on paper i.e. the back/menu button. All the text and tables will print in black (as this is the cheapest ink and not using colour ink to print text etc). I have also removed the banner, but kept thumbnail pictures as if you wanted to print a page to take out with you the thumbnails would be useful but the banner isn't really. It prints out like a fact sheet and Im pretty happy with the result if I'm honest. Suggestions/recommendations welcome (send me an email on the form at the bottom of the page!)

So, what about the content I hear you cry. The reason I ended up doing the above was because I work better on paper. I wanted a template I could print out so when doing research on each species I could write it all, edit, scribble, penis pics, add, etc then when I am happy simple copy it onto the pages. I created a template from a page but it printed as you see it so I set about editing the CSS (how a web page is laid out) so it would print nicely and I'm sure you can see where I'm going from there... I continued and had the bug to then deploy it over all the pages. The point is I was intending to ramp up getting content on the pages but this got in my way. I now have my templates to work from so no excuses... content to follow...

Additionally I have changed the page layout slightly, from input I have received so the general info id before the gallery now and related species are at the bottom of the page (not on most pages currently).

Over and out.
